History

Ruppert Auction Service will continue the service provided for many years across Southwest Nebraska by Egle Auction Company.

Andy and Peggy Ruppert of rural Culbertson purchased the auction company from Don and Iola Egle in January 2002, and assumed possession after the Egles moved to Arkansas in April 2002.

Ruppert worked for the Egles for seven years before purchasing the company. “I set up auctions, worked as ringman,” Ruppert said, “whatever needed to be done.” Ruppert said he also learned to sell by listening to Don and Don’s son, Lonnie.

Andy Ruppert’s crew includes fellow auctioneers (and ringmen) Danny Berndt and Justin Banzhaf; ringman, Aaron Ruppert, Andy’s son; clerk Merlin Brown; and cashiers, Danelle Ruppert, Andy’s daughter, and wife, Peggy, who has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting.

Ruppert said his company will do estate, household and consignment sales, and has the equipment and manpower to set up auctions.

Ruppert also farms, so is especially proficient at farm sales.
